Sullivan, MO, March 31, 2023: Sullivan High School is pleased to announce that Brandi Byrd has been selected to be the first head girls golf coach at Sullivan High School. Byrd is also an assistant middle school track coach. She currently teaches math at Sullivan Middle School and has been teaching in the district for eleven years.
Byrd graduated from Sullivan High School in the class of 2000. She received a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Central Methodist University and is currently completing her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Arkansas.
When asked about being the Head Girls Golf Coach at Sullivan Byrd said, “I am very excited to help our school and community build a girls golf program we can be proud of. I enjoy playing golf and have played since high school. When I was in high school I wanted a girls golf team, so I am so happy we can give this opportunity to girls at Sullivan High.” Activities Director, Cody Davis said, “Coach Byrd brings a desire to build the girls golf program. Her passion for the sport and working with the girls golf players was very evident. She is well connected into the women’s golf community within Sullivan and will use those relationships to build partnerships. I am very excited to work with Coach Byrd and watch her develop players and provide opportunities for girls we have not had before. ”
This will be the first year for Girls Golf at Sullivan High School. They will play within the fall season and practice will start on August 7th, 2023.
